Respite Care
For many, the challenges of caring for an elderly, chronically ill or disabled family member are part of everyday life.
Caring for a loved one at home can bring many rewards but at the same time be very demanding. The responsibility of being a main care giver can be extremely tiring especially when the support involves managing long term complex needs.
We can provide respite support to enable primary carers, family members or friends to take a break and recharge their batteries, knowing that their loved ones are being cared for in the comfort of their own home.
Respite care at home is a short term solution that negates the need to disrupt a loved one’s familiar routines by moving them to residential care and the inevitable disruption and anxiety this can cause for all concerned.
This service can be planned with us in advance for holiday cover for example but is also available at short notice to cover unforeseen emergencies or in cases where a primary caregiver may become unexpectedly ill.
It is worth noting that longer periods of Respite care can provide an insight into what Live-In-Care is like before making a full commitment if this be something that is being considered on a permanent basis in the future.
